“While it is very important to have modern education, it will, however, be sad if you lose Tibetan language and culture,” said His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama. For the 6,000 Tibetans currently living in New York, culture preservation is a top priority. Besides regular community gathering, teaching children the language and keeping cultural traditions alive are the utmost importance.
