A Walk Through Harlem River Park

Community Board 11 member Richard Toussaint of Harlem has fond memories of a childhood during which he frequently played by the banks of the Harlem River. Twenty years ago, his idea of creating a riverfront park in Harlem was adopted and made part of the city’s overall plan to create a greenbelt around the island of Manhattan. In words and pictures, Toussaint takes viewers on a virtual tour of Harlem River Park, a waterfront retreat from the hustle and bustle of the thriving urban neighborhood it abuts.
